Without any climbing equipment in their KS1 play area, Wincheap Foundation Primary School asked Fawns to recommend a piece of equipment that offered open ended play opportunities that could fit into a small corner of the play ground.

Neil Martin, the Fawns play consultant recommended the pick up sticks 4 unit, perfect for offering children of varied abilities the opportunity to challenge themselves with a whole range of role play and social play opportunities.

The children love the equipment and teachers have remarked how the unit has become a valuable prop in the children’s games and group play. As you can see from the pictures, the children decorate the unit with chalk as part of their different interpretations of what the unit represents, one day it is a ship, the next a space rocket!
