FEEDBACK FROM THE CUSTOMER
“Our play equipment was old and weathered so the children were unable to use the areas. Fawns came in and designed the new areas from our brief and the installation team worked hard during some awful weather to deliver the project on time and to a very high standard.
We would definitely use Fawns for any other project in the future.”

BACKGROUND
Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery is in the seaside suburb of Westcliff-on-Sea in the county of Essex.
The school’s main vision is to work together in a caring environment, developing their core values of pride, respect, inclusion, nurture, courage, and excellence, celebrating success with a smile!
PROJECT BRIEF
The reception play area had old equipment with a large area of grass that had become so muddy it could no longer be used during the winter. The school wanted to create a space where the children could work on their physical development. Focusing on the 7 areas of learning.
Additionally, the main school playground was lacking any equipment for the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children to utilise during breaktimes. The school were keen to introduce a new piece of play equipment that would cater for a large group of children at a time, offering age-appropriate challenge for all abilities.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
The local play consultant met with the Prince Avenue Primary School Premises Manager initially to discuss the project in a bit more detail.
It was known that the school wanted to update their EYFS play area and were seeking a large climbing structure in the main playground but were open to ideas on what would work best for the age ranges and mixed abilities of the children.
A design proposal was created and presented to the school, and with some minor adjustments, a final design was agreed. Fawns were chosen as the preferred supplier as they provided the exact equipment that met the brief and the learning outcomes, the school required for their pupils.
