FEEDBACK FROM THE CUSTOMER

“I would recommend Playtime by Fawns. The initial consultancy and subsequent first plans were interesting and helpful and the proposals within a reasonable budget for a small parish. Amendments were made promptly and very usefully, and the installation was done thoughtfully, with minimum impact on neighbours and within the time frame specified, despite the weather.”

J. Cadman, Clerk to the Council

BACKGROUND

Nestled in the picturesque village of Compton, Surrey, Compton Parish Council stands as a beacon of history and community spirit. Established shortly after the dawn of civil parishes in 1894, it is among the earliest to serve the vibrant local community.

PROJECT BRIEF

The community needed a playground that would ignite children’s imaginations again. In response, Compton Parish Council decided to replace the outdated equipment with new, wooden structures that would not only be fun but also fit seamlessly into the rural surroundings.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

After four years of planning, the Parish Council was ready to begin scheduling the install of a new playground, thanks to funds they had raised and grants from the Village Association and the Shepherds Mead Trust.

The local consultant and the Parish Clerk met to discuss the design and development of the new play area. They carefully considered the community’s input and explored various options to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive space for children of all ages and abilities.

A design and quotation were presented to the parish clerk and minor amendments were made to the design to ensure best value for money.

The council had approached 5 companies, however Fawns stood out as the most helpful and realistic. Overall Fawns had provided the scheme that met the key objectives and considered the budget without compromising on quality.
