Prestigious and award winning Independent Girls School, Guildford High School, asked us to help them redesign their junior playground. They wanted a focus on creating a stimulating and lively environment in keeping with their ethos. Utilising an existing safer surfacing area, we designed a bespoke Young Explorer unit. This incorporates climbing, balancing and social areas that would provide a prop to the children’s imagination. All whilst in keeping with the leafy surroundings of the playground! Additionally we installed one of our Pick Up Sticks units, complete with a slide. This offers open-ended child led play opportunities capable of offering challenge, irrespective of ability. We surfaced this unit with our Duralawn artificial grass and shock pad system, offering a soft and tactile area which the children could also use for sitting and chilling away from the main playground.
We were exceptionally pleased with the results when the young ladies at the Guildford High Junior school asked us back to demonstrate their agility on a beautiful summers day.
